Vehicle Sales Note July 2025

Total vehicle sales came to 1,309 units in Jul ‘25, down 0.3% m/m but representing an annual increase of 11.7%. Commercial vehicle sales had a slightly better month with 699 units sold, up 3.2% m/m and 15.0% y/y, with upticks observed in each commercial class. Passenger vehicle sales declined by 4.1% m/m to 610 units, but is up 8.2% y/y. Toyota again accounted for 50% of the passenger vehicle market, with Volkswagen’s share declining from 17.4% to 12.4%. Demand continues on a positive trajectory. YTD, 8,275 vehicle sales have been recorded – the highest since ’16, with 10% more units sold so far this year compared to ‘24. Part of this uptick can be attributed to rather strong rental agency demand in the past two months: 101 rental agency purchases in Jul ‘25, all of which were Toyota vehicles, following the 160 made in Jun ‘25. Peaking in Jun and Jul each year, the 261 rental agency purchases in the past two months is compared to the 195 recorded in the same two months last year.
