Namibia National Accounts Q1 2025
Namibia posts 16 consecutive quarters of real GDP growth. However, Q1 ’25 recorded growth of 2.7%, a slowdown from both the revised previous quarter’s growth (3.6%) and Q1 ’24 (4.8%). Mining & Quarrying and Wholesale & Retail Trade remain the largest contributors to GDP, being the only two sectors with double-digit contributions. Agriculture & Forestry and Manufacturing experienced the two largest declines in their contributions to real GDP, by 3.2 ppt and 1.3 ppt, respectively. Agriculture & Forestry itself contracted by 20.1%, primarily due to a downturn in the livestock sector, which was affected by drought and disease. Taxes on Products grew by 5.4% and contributed 9.4% to real GDP.
