Significant annual decelerations were observed in five of the six heaviest-weighing baskets, leading to headline annual inflation decelerating to 4.6% in June 2024 - down from 4.9% in the previous month. On a monthly basis, the NCPI has deflated by 0.2% - the lowest since April 2020. Monthly deflation was seen in alcoholic beverages, tobacco, communications and several household goods.
