According to the Namibia Statistics Agency, the Namibian economy posted growth of 5.0% in Q1 ’23, slower than the 7.3% recorded in Q1 ’22. Barring this, it is the fastest start to the year since Q1 ’15 (8.2%). Growth was reported across most sectors, but was primarily driven by mining and quarrying (+34.3%), electricity and water (+16.8%), wholesale and retail trade (+5.7%), and transport and storage (+6.7%).
