Annual inflation in Namibia for Aug ’22 hit 7.3%, the highest print since Feb ’17 (Aug ’21: 3.4%; Jul ’22: 6.8%). The higher inflation is mostly attributed to the food and transport categories, collectively accounting for 5.0%pts (or 67.8%) of the Aug ’22 CPI print. Average annual inflation now stands at 5.6% (and will continue to increase), the highest annual average since ’17 (which was 6.2%).
