NCPI Note March 2022
Annual inflation for Mar ’22 came in at 4.5%, the same as Feb ’22, but an increase from the 3.1% in Mar ’21. There is some deflationary pressure coming from the food basket, however, rising international cereal and oil prices are creating upward inflationary pressure within the basket. Inflation for rental payments remained the same, likely anchoring inflation somewhat for the remainder of the year.
